In a future update, Android WhatsApp will have an iOS-inspired design

WhatsApp is set to make a major change to its Android interface, with the aim of making the navigation bar more accessible. The change will move the navigation bar to the bottom of the screen, similar to what is already available on the iPhone. This will make the Chats, Communities, Status, and Calls tabs more thumb accessible, while the icons for the camera, search, and settings will remain at the top right of the screen. The change was revealed by WABetaInfo, a specialized site that tracks all the interesting new features in the beta versions.

The new layout, which appears through two screenshots (light mode and dark mode), will offer a more consistent WhatsApp experience between Android smartphones and iPhones (iOS). The site claims that this new interface will be available in a future WhatsApp update. However, the release date of the update is yet to be confirmed.

It is important to note that users can move from one section to another of the application by swiping the screen with their thumb to the left or right. This navigation function will remain in place, even with the bar moved down to the bottom of the screen.

In addition to the interface change, WhatsApp is also preparing a function to better protect users’ most private conversations. The details of this function are yet to be revealed, but it is expected to enhance the security of the app and ensure user privacy.

Overall, the new interface change will make WhatsApp more user-friendly and consistent across different platforms. It is a welcome change for Android users who have been waiting for a more accessible navigation bar. WhatsApp continues to improve its features and security measures to ensure that users have the best possible experience. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
